What is a Home Care Agency?

What is a Home Care Agency?

Home Care Agencies are licensed businesses that hire caregivers to perform nonmedical services. The caregivers will assist those that need help with daily activities like bathing, dressings, eating, meal preparation, basic cleaning around the house, and may take them to and from appointments and to run errands. Home care aides may not do any medical activities like administer drugs, insulin, or change the dressing on a patient.

How to Find a Reliable Home Care Agency

When choosing a home care agency you want to make sure they are licensed and certified by the state. You want to also make sure that they run background checks on the people they employ and provide them with proper training to do the tasks needed. You also want to seek that there is good communication between you and the agency and that everything is documented. If a caregiver does not show up or if problems are to arise you need to be at ease that the agency will handle the situation and that your care is handled with top priority.
